Required recipient information for a wire transfer
For each recipient, you will need to provide their:
- Bank account number, or International Bank Account Number (IBAN) if applicable for the destination country. The IBAN is an international standard for identifying bank accounts. It improves the speed and accuracy of your payment transactions.
- Full name as it appears on their account
- Mailing address
- Bank information
- For most cross-border transfers, provide the SWIFT code or BIC. Please check with the recipient’s bank.
- For USD transfers within the US and its territories, provide the ABA routing number, bank name, and address.
When sending money to an account outside of the US, make sure the receiving account can accept the currency that you are sending. Otherwise, the recipient’s bank may convert the money to their local currency and apply a fee.
